Com este belo cartão de visitas, resolvi rever este classicão do horror oitentista depois de saber que já está bem alinhavado um remake seu.
Eu nem lembrava mais, mas eu ainda tinha aqui em casa até os gibis da série criada por Barker - aliás, de muito boa qualidade. Assim, voltei bem preparado para a trama dos cenobitas do inferno.
A trama é a seguinte: homem encontra um cubo que desvendado, acessa uma dimensão onde moram os cenobitas, demônios com taras masoquistas. Daí, sua cunhada e amante o encontra em um estado de quase-vida e o ajuda a se recompor fisicamente através do sangue de outras pessoas.
Com um orçamento irrisório, mas com várias boas ideias, o filme ganhou fãs rapidamente e foi premiado em vários festivais do gênero mundo afora.
Para os padrões atuais, os efeitos especiais e algumas soluções do roteiro soam ultrapassadas, mas como eu disse acima, foi um sopro de originalidade, abordando o sadomasoquismo como forma de prazer mórbido, algo que chocou, mas também trouxe fascínio à época.
Talvez seja um pouco memória afetiva, mas eu novamente gostei bastante do filme, como lembrava ter feito lá nos primóridios do VHS...
Para fãs do terror, é obrigatório.
